Adam Milstein was born to two emigrant-parents. His father, Hillel Milshtein, immigrated from Argentina; and his mother, Eva Temkin, immigrated from Mexico. The two young lovers met while Hillel served as a combat sailor during Israel’s independence war. A year later, the couple married and settled in Haifa, Israel.
Adam and his siblings, Joshua and Dalit, were born in Haifa. Because of their father’s work, the family moved to Kiryat Motzkin, where Adam spent his childhood. In 1971, Adam joined the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). He was part of the Ariel Sharon’s army Division and served during the Yom Kippur War.
After completing his mandatory service, Adam enrolled in the Israeli Institute of Technology, the Technion. While attending the Technion, Adam worked with his father. Together, they expanded the family’s real estate construction and development business. AdamMilstein also married his girlfriend, Gila Elgrably in Haifa.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in business and economics. In 1974, he moved his entire family to the United States. Shortly after arriving, Adam’s wife gave birth to their third daughter. Adam decided to further his education more and attend the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Two years later, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree.
While at the University of Southern California, he overheard some recruiters hiring some undergraduates. He listened to what they had to say and didn’t think they were offering what he felt he was worth. He’d worked in the real estate industry in Israel and had more experience than the undergraduates.
So, he decided to join the commercial real estate industry on his own. Within three years, he was a successful sales agent and had begun investing in some of his commercial properties. He even brought his father in on some of the deals.
After establishing a renowned reputation in the industry, Adam dedicated his life to philanthropic endeavors. Mainly, he wanted to strengthen the Jewish people and the State of Israel. He also wanted to improve U.S. – Israel relations.
