The Chainsmokers Just Can’t Be Stopped

The EDM Duo that has become a music industry powerhouse, The Chainsmokers, released an impressive full length debut album in 2018 called “Memories… Do Not Open.” Their album was able to reach the top of the charts at number one recently and is a collection of both dance and electronic genre of music. Their successful dance / electronic album stayed at the top of the charts for 31 non-consecutive weeks. Even the inclusive Billboard 200 placed this memorable album at number one on its chart in which Billboard is known for tracking the 200 most popular songs of every genre from every single in the United States each week. Eventually, the album did reach platinum status. Later, Their collaboration with singer Halsey provided The Chainsmokers with their biggest hit ever. The song they made together called “Closer” was considered certified diamond in the United States. The Chainsmokers found out this happy news on Instagram of all places. They decided upon receiving their newly-minted plaques that they would post photos on their Instagram pages in celebration of successfully obtaining a diamond single to their credit. “Closer” has won a Grammy nomination and was the longest running number one hit on the Billboard charts. 2018 has proven to be a big year for The Chainsmokers group . Both Drew Taggart and Alex Pall make up the members of this popular duo and have earned $45.5 million dollars. The Chainsmokers have been able to kick-off a charting run in the music industry since 2016. They also were able to make history in this process with singles from this group called “Don’t Let Me Down” and “Paris.” In fact, The Chainsmokers name appeared in at least one position between number 1 and 10 for a total of 61 consecutive weeks. This truly is almost something unheard of. They’re now in second place behind Katy Perry who had a 69 week consecutive run inside the top 10.
